Payment and Refund Policy

Preparatory classes

  • Students enroll on a semester basis. 

  • Unless other arrangements are made with the CSPA Director, payment in full is expected with the registration via personal check (payable to “VCU-CSPA”) cash, or major credit card. 

  • Once the student has attended class, students and parents are responsible for the entire semester’s tuition.  There are no refunds given for withdrawals or absences.

Theatre With Children For Children.

  • Students enroll for the entire academic year, from September through May. 

  • The yearly tuition fee is $400. 

  • Fees may be paid in full with the registration (due on or before the first class date), or on an installment plan, via personal check or major credit card. 

  • The standard installment plan consists of an initial down payment of $150 with the registration, followed by two installments of $128 each in November and December. 

  • Once classes have begun, parents are responsible for the entire yearly tuition.  There are no refunds given for missed classes or withdrawals, regardless of reason.

Collections Policy

  • CSPA bills installment payments through VCU’s Miscellaneous Receivables department. 

  • Payments 30 days or more past due are referred to VCU Collections, which assesses a 25% collections fee on all accounts, regardless of reason for lateness.

Parking on the VCU Campus

  • The Music Center is serviced by the “VV” parking lot, which requires a valid parking sticker. 

  • Those wishing to park on this lot after 3:30 p.m. daily may purchase an evening parking pass by calling the VCU Parking Office at 828-0501. 

  • No pass is required on weekends. 

  • Parking is available 24 hours a day at the Academic Parking Deck, 801 West Main Street. 

  • CSPA students or parents parking in the VV lot without a pass, however briefly, are subject to a $15.00 ticket.  CSPA will not pay any student parking citations.

Policy on Disruptive Behavior

  • Students who disrupt classes with inappropriate behavior (physical or verbal aggression towards other students or staff, repeated unexcused absences, irresponsibility in preparation for classes or rehearsals, etc.) may be expelled from the program. 

  • Students will receive a verbal warning for the first offense and a written warning to parents for the second. 

  • The third offense will result in a conference between instructor and parents. 

  • Further offenses are grounds for expulsion with no refund.
