Directors Note

I am writing to let the membership know that
several months ago I informed the Steering Committee that I was resigning as the head of VSPA. After over fifteen years of heading up this organization, I feel it is time for me to step aside and let someone else head up the Steering Committee and VSPA. It has been a wonderful and educational experience. I can recommend the position to anyone who would like to learn more about the world of photography. I have had the pleasure over the last twenty years of meeting some amazing people and working with many very talented photographers. I must leave the position to devote more time to family and my own work. Because of these time constraints, I feel I have not been able to provide the kind of leadership for VSPA that it needs at this point. I hope that someone will step forward and take a leadership role in VSPA I will gladly help them with the job. While I am sure it seems daunting to head up a statewide photography organization, it is really as simple as asking your friends to do a few tasks. Also I would remind members that VSPA is about the members coming up with programs and ideas and using VSPA to help carry them out. It is your organization. Use it to accomplish your goals in photography. In parting, I want to send out a thank you to all the curators and photographers I have worked with over the years. It has truly been a pleasure. Virginia is lucky to have such a wonderful group of talented people who love photography and create such amazing images.
