The work of Barry R. Jones, currently of Glade Spring, Va., is on display at The 1912 Gallery on the campus of Emory & Henry College. His exhibit, “Secrets,” is aimed at breaking down the stereotypes that surround mental illness. Utilizing the poetry of his brother, Brian, who is schizophrenic, Jones educates his audience about the issues of mental illness and challenges them to reconsider their preconceived notions about those suffering from a mental illness. The exhibit will be on display through Oct. 12. A member of the arts faculty at Emory & Henry, Jones received his M.F.A. in 3-D studies from the University of South Carolina.
